scraphunger

well as you all may already know this is the 5th year for scraphunger and i am working on making it the best yet. i am in the process of looking for those talented ones whom would like to share thier talent by running a make n take table. throughout the day id like to have at least 4 make n takes. there will also be a table where those that are interested can make a card or how ever many they would like to send to the troops. i also support our local DHS lifestory program which by collecting scrapbooking items and pages throughout the day they are then given to the DHS office and they put toghather lifestory albums for the children in foster care. subway provides lunch. i am also looking at adding other things throughout the day, anyone with ideals they would like to share im all ears.....ive also tossed around the ideal of having chilcare for the parents that can only attend if they have some so at this point its a thought but it sounds like a good one so we will see. well anyways, i am looking forward to hearing from you all. the input and ideals will be great. im closing for now. hope everyone has a wonderful love filled day drenched within sunshined smiles.

To hold this wee one in our arms releasing a sigh of softness, As we calmly cradle the heavenly heartbeat ever so soft. We look into their eyes, as we give thanks our praise from above. Oh to know you my little one. To hold praise in your eyes. To stand proud for you i will. Oh how my heart sings for you each movement you make. The pinkness in your cheeks, the rumble tumble in a curl. I open my heart little one and all within is yours. I shall hold tight to you, which is precious in all to keep you safe. To empower you with serenity. I do love you, Little one......

collections

i went to an estate sale today as i looked around and listened to the buyers that filled the room i was filled with feelings that brought on the writing that follows....Collections, We have our collections throughout our lives starting with the many pages of artwork drawn for us by our little paccasos. To the never ending shelves filled with those nickknacks we couldnt turn away. As our lives move on, we collect. Collect for ourselves, Collect for our children. The piles grow. Suddenly out from what starts as a beautiful day, comes the darkness, the sadness, where we are no more, or left taken from our familiar surroundings therefore leaving all our collections. All those items we cherished so dearly to be dusted off and put on display for all to pick. Some items which are kept from the heart bare no price. Photos of childhood days cast in beautiful frames. Lacy coverings which draped the tables at a family meal.  Our home fills, one by one, people dredge through baring no mind to the heart in which each item has a string. As each item is removed from its place in hopes of purchase, there becomes an unsettling cloud of crudeness, as the bargain hunters become unhappy as to see a price in which is far to lowly marked already, they do not see this. Lower they say,Lower, as they move from room to room collecting in their arms each memory. Will they build their own? For this i hope. Moving last to the ending of the day, the rooms are bare. Each dream, each happieness in a new home. Appreciate my life i ask. Cherish each item, love it as i did, till your time. Its then dusted off and moved on to anothers Collection.....

my dream

ive started a program called scraphunger from the most vivid dream id ever had, following it i put toghather a 12 hour scrapbooking/crafting function to collect food to help those in need throughout our community and it worked, the 1st year we collected enough to feed 140 people, 2nd year 246, 3rd year 312 and in 2010 we exceded all the prior years at collecting 1,002.9 pounds. i am sooooo proud of this program it truly proves that anyone can help those in need by doing a little something. this year is the 5th year and im working on making it the best yet. my dream is to have others take the ideal and put it to work in their home towns with hope to battle hunger every where as i truly believe we can do it....my other true passion next to helping those in need is poetry. i have been published in a book of poems and have been asked to contribute to the best poets of 2010. what a wonderful way to express yourselfwith this being said id like to leave everyone with this writing, called reach out,  the unbearable deafing crys from those whom have not enough food for their little ones. you walk by, not venturing your eyes to the sight of those whom truly are in need. are you afraid? afraid as if to look deep would connect a link of unsurity, leaving you empty hearted not knowing what next to do. reach out your hand, extending the true touch, to help your fellow man. within our lifes we to are in need. do not be afraid, do not turn your backs on those whose crys are loud, to help may only require a smile, a simple nod of your head, a reassuring freshness of friendship. do not stand behind your fellow man, stand tall, stand beside.....
